Bad Catholics, Good Trouble

is a webcomic series that brings to vivid life true stories of Catholic injustice and the ordinary people of faith who did extraordinary things to confront white supremacy in their communities. The project translates scholarly research into creative and compelling comics stories for readers of all ages. It is created in collaboration with artist Marcus Jimenez and web designer Megan Goodwin with funding from the Henry Luce Foundation, the the American Academy of Religion, and the Crossroads Project at Princeton.

An Exception to the Rule

tells the story of Sister Mary Angelica Schultz, a white Franciscan nun hit in the head with a brick while marching for open housing in Chicago in 1966

What Are You Going To Do?

follows Arthur McFarland, a Black Catholic from Charleston who desegregated his Catholic high school, participated in the March on Washington, and confronted racism at as part of the Black revolution on Notre Dame’s campus in the late 1960s
